Some frequently asked questions...
Do I need experience? No, with the orientation course first-timers can be climbing in about 15-20 minutes.
Do I need special equipment? No, if you have a harness and climbing shoes that is great. If not, we rent them at reasonable rates.
Are climbing shoes mandatory? No, again we do rent them, but you may wear tennis shoes if you wish. Climbing shoes do help you stick on the wall.
My friend is heavier tham I am, Does that matter? No, our belay devices are anchored into the concrete floor allowing us to belay much heavier people.
Is there an age limit? To climb we do not have a set age limit, to "belay" you must be 15 or older and complete the orientation course.
What is "Belaying"? A means of securing a climber by use of rope and a belay device to minimize a fall. A "Belayer" is the person on the ground who secures the climber and stops their fall.
What is "Bouldering"? Climbing low to the ground without the use of a rope or belayer, but usually with a spotter. A great way to focus on technique and power by working specific sequences repeatedly. Also great if you can't find a "belayer."
